Your book needs your support to become a best-seller because books rarely sell themselves.
To reach best-seller status, you must actively support your work with time, effort, and sometimes financial investment.
Relying on Amazon alone is risky. Without ongoing support, your book may be forgotten, neglected, or simply lost in the noise.
Begin by focusing on your local market. Whether your country is Nigeria, India, Canada, the UK, or the US—start close to home. Cultivate readership within your neighborhood, state, or region before expanding further.
For example, Nigeria has a population exceeding 230 million. Selling just 1,000 copies per month could yield 120,000 copies within ten years. Selling 1,000 per week could reach over half a million in the same period. Local traction lays the foundation for wider success.
Coursework can guide you – but implementation matters most. Apply at least ten percent of what you learn from book writing or marketing courses. That small effort may position your book on a best-seller list.
Ask yourself: Do you have a landing page? A website or blog? A podcast or YouTube channel? Regular promotion keeps your book visible.
Your book’s value is unlocked only after printing. It’s post-publication marketing – not distribution alone – that drives earnings.
Seek support from professionals who understand publishing and marketing – not just printing services. Vision & Talent Press, under Paul Uduk’s leadership, offers mentoring, editing, design, distribution, and marketing support tailored for Nigerian authors and beyond.
Join a community of other writers. Online or offline, these networks help amplify your book through referrals and shared opportunities.
Expand your reach via platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Spotify. These channels offer direct access to readers – use them strategically.
Look to successful self-published authors for inspiration. Alex Hormozi’s $100M Leads launch generated over 300,000 copies sold within 90 minutes, and his cumulative sales exceed 1.5 million copies. His disciplined launch strategy offers vital lessons for self-published authors.
Local authors, including Nigeria’s Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, have also achieved remarkable success – selling millions of copies globally. Her book, Americanah, alone surpassed two million copies.
Even with traditional publishing support, authors receive modest royalties. Real financial impact often comes from related revenue streams – endorsements, speaking engagements, films, and spin-offs.
Imagine selling 100,000 self-published copies at $12 each. Or one million copies. These scenarios demonstrate the potential of thoughtful, sustained support.

In summary: Be proactive. Prioritize local markets. Implement what you learn. Build your platform. Invest in your book’s promotion. Join supportive networks. Model effective strategies. With persistence and planning, you can turn your book into a best-seller.

There is more to a book’s success than writing and lobbing to Amazon.
Unsupported books die a natural death and are quickly forgotten.
Don’t allow that to happen to your book.
