The Principle of Winning Is Doing

The principle of winning is doing. If you really want to win, then start doing. You will not win by endless planning, strategizing, visualizing, brainstorming, mind mapping, preparing, attracting, dreaming and using all those other crutches people use as a cop-out.

In 2017 Ray Dalio wrote PRINCIPLES, a straightforward guide on decision making. Of PRINCIPLES, Bill Gates said, “Ray Dalio has provided me with invaluable guidance and insights that are now available to you in Principles.”

In 2015 I started BWC (Book Writing Clinic) to test the waters whether there were people out there struggling to get their ideas out on paper. People showed up. The BWC community is waxing strong. Over 20 BWC alumni members have so far published their books.

In 2020 following COVID-19, I tested the waters whether there were people out there hungry to learn digital marketing. People showed up. We call ourselves iBMCers. iBMC alumni members are breaking boundaries and earning income locally and internationally.

In 2020, I also tested the waters to confirm whether there were people out there interested in a “community of learners” regarding ‘course creation’. People showed up from all over the world. I called the Group, Online Course Creator Community For Newbies And Advanced Beginners (OCCCNA). OCCCNA has surpassed 7,000 members.

So, the principle of winning is doing. Talk less and do more. Jump off your couch and start doing and see the result you would achieve.

So, today I shared a note with BWC and iBMC alumni members, which I’m sharing with you now. This is what I shared:

Just revisiting memory lane to see how far we have come in both BWC and iBMC.

Together, BWC and iBMC, we are about 300 tough-minded forward-looking explorers determined to push the book and digital marketing boundaries.

About 70% of iBMC Alumni Members are BWC Alumni Members.

Take a look at BWC Alumni Members by clicking this link and if you’re iBMC Alumni Member click this link (that is, if you submitted your photo).

One thing really stands out as I observe BWC and iBMC Alumni Members progress in their journeys.

I call it “The Principle of Winning.”

  • The Principle of Winning is Doing.

Maybe I should call it The Rule of Winning. Rule is akin to Law. But let’s stick to Principle, because unlike Rule or Law, there is no compulsion.

The BWC of 23 March, 2019, was one of the most well attended, with 9 ladies and 4 gentlemen, for a total of 14 (including the Coach).

One thing stood out: every participant in the room spoke, telling the world what they were going to do post the Clinic.

But one person spoke with a clear promise in focus – she said, “I will be inviting everyone back for my book launch.”

Guess who said that?

Phil has so far released three books, including A Heritage of Greatness: Stories of African Heroines due out on 24 March, 2023.

She had earlier released The Exciting Adventures of a Boring Consultant and Shades of Red.

The Principle of Winning Is Doing – doing what you say you would do no matter the odds.

The reason you should follow the Principle is that things today change at the speed of light so when you delay for a minute, your ‘plan’ and ‘ideas’ become obsolete.

Phil has three books in the kitty and others are in the works.

Yes, other BWC Alumni Members have also flapped their wings, not in any order:

  • Adebayo Akinloye

  • Winifred Mena
  • Charles Akoroda
  • Charity Ibeabuchi
  • Chidi Ogazi
  • Dennis Michael
  • Dr. Eric Ighalo
  • Idu Okwuosa
  • Kennedy Nnaji
  • Kemi Adeniran

From small acorns great oaks grow.

Do not delay, put on your apron and start cooking your book. Add all the necessary ingredients like metaphors, analogies, and similes, for the sweet aroma of winning. I can boldly say, YOU NEVER CAN TELL WHAT WILL COME OUT ON THE OTHER END. Amazon would be proud of you.

Never forget the Principle. The Principle of Winning is Doing. Congratulations to BWC Alumni Members who have braced the tape. If you are yet to brace the tape, begin.

My Principle is now available to you. Do more, talk less. And if you’re running a $100billion business, don’t forget Ray Dalio’s PRINCIPLE.
