Are you reinventing yourself?

Share:

Are you right now doing anything and everything to reinvent yourself – in short are you reinventing yourself?

You may ask, how do I reinvent myself?

You can reinvent yourself by learning how to speak like Les Brown, Roger Love or Craig Valentine?

By writing best-selling books like Brendon Burchard, Tony Robbins or Tom Peters?

Or just writing eBooks like Paul Uduk and other aspiring internet gurus?

Or learning how to coach like Alan Weiss, Marshall Goldsmith or Bill Campbell?

Or consult like John Wesey, Seth Godin or Foluso Phillips?

Or produce mega shows like Oprah, Marie Forleo or Ellen DeGeneres?

Or create a simple newsletter on Substack or something more mammoth like Ariana Huffington?

Or learning how to break news like Linda Ikeji, CNN and BBC?

Or learning how to do business or train online like Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, Ruth Soukup, and Ramith Sethi?

Or Jon Morrow, Jay Abraham, Rich Schefren, and hundreds of other online influencers and thought leaders?

Many of us talk about making it big, being taken to the next level, becoming unstoppable and so forth.

Many of us read motivational books like Who Moved My Cheese, Rich Dad Poor Dad, and Think And Grow Rich.

Some read How To Win Friends And Influence People, Awaken The Giant Within, Motivation Manifesto, and lots more.

Many of us attend webinars, seminars, conferences, summits, courses but never lift a finger to execute.

So the question again is, Are You Reinventing Yourself?

Which takes us to the next question, When should you reinvent yourself?

Many top achievers, both young and old, men and women, wait until they are broke before the begin to reinvent themselves.

Some wait until they are thrown out of job before the think how to reinvent themselves.

Some wait until they leave their high-paying jobs or are between jobs or retire before they think of reinventing themselves or think reinvention.

If you think I am castigating you or you are the only one in this one-way to irrelevance I must tell you I am not.

I was in your exact same shoes a little over 10 years ago when the ground caved in before my feet.

Needless to say I was left penniless after the bank I worked for took their pound of flesh.

That is when I found out the exact meaning of the wise saying “Success will expose you to the world; failure will expose the world to you.”

Learning from my mistake how you should handle reinvention is the reason I am here.

I’m here to tell you that waiting until you are down and almost out before you begin to think of reinvention is a guaranteed recipe for disaster.

I was lucky as my kids came to my rescue sending me “bail out” packages now and then as the Federal Government of Nigeria bailed out the states of the Federation in 2015.

Waiting till you are down and almost out is a recipe for total disaster.

If I may repeat, because by that time you would have lost the will to fight, the will to win, the will to conquer and the will to prevail.

You should think of reinvention when you’re at the top of your game because that’s when you’re at the peak of your zeal.

And most importantly, that’s when your finances can adequately support your ambition or that’s when your arc of ambition is at its zenith.

Do you want to reinvent yourself starting today or you believe you are already a guru you do not need reinvention?

This may help you rethink.

However, I strongly believe you should think reinvention right away and take steps to achieve same in the shortest time possible.

This is what you should do: Take five sheets of blank white paper and write REINVENTION in bold letters at the top.

Paste one of the papers on your mirror where you brush teeth daily

Paste one by the head of your bed , one by your fridge, one by your reading table.

And finally, paste one by your car dashboard as daily and constant reminder to begin.

Talk to your mentor assuming you have one that you want to reinvent yourself and you need his or her urgent help.

One of Nigeria’s highly decorated personal coaches is Janet Adetu; talk to her.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Professor, Medical Doctor, Architect, Banker, or a chartered Accountant.

It does not matter whether you are a MAN or SMEDAN or NACCIMA Certified Entrepreneur or Businesswoman.

And it does not matter if you are a COREN certified Engineer

And it does not matter if you are ATD, CMD, NITAD or LDNI Certified Trainer

It does not matter if you are a Chartered Secretary, a big lawyer with SAN after your name.

Reinvention is not about getting a great job or making millions selling real estate, forex, crytocurrency, etc.

Those are just streams of income and you can have as many streams of income as possible.

Get on with the real business of reinventing yourself today because you need to remain evergreen and more.

Reinvention is about putting yourself out there in the world as the global influencer.

The reason is because today national boundaries have disappeared so like it or not you are a global citizen.

Reinvention is about creating outsized impact and leaving the world a better place.

If your mentor is unable to help you in your bid to reinvent yourself, you can equally talk to me – that is, if you don’t mind.

I can and I will help you on your journey.
