If you want to be noticed write a book.
The first time I was invited to speak as a motivational speaker I gave every excuse in the book why I was not the right person.
I told the people I was a trainer and not a motivational speaker.
I requested they look for another person but they pleaded, they’d submitted the final program to the GMD so nothing could be changed.
I prayed for a miracle to happen so they could change their mind.
They said they’d arranged a helicopter to pick you – don’t disappoint us.
I was to present to a class of over 35 engineers (chemical, mechanical, electronic, etc.). I felt out of depth.
Engineers thrive on precision, not wooly concept such as legacy, excellence. Can anyone measure excellence?
Long story short, after my speech the founder decided to take me back to my city in his private jet.
How did I enter the radar of this company?
My book, Bridges to the Customer’s Heart gave me away.
Since that event, I’ve coached 10 other Fortune 1,000 founders on how think about their legacy, trained more than 10,000 on service excellence, spoken as a motivational speaker at retreats, led hundreds of open seminars and sold courses in excess of 8 figures.
My BWC (Book Writing Clinic) alumni graduate into iBMC (Internet Business Mastery) to learn how to extend their IP through courses, podcasts and YouTube channels.
All these not because I’m an expert YouTuber or a podcast expert.
With a book, you become an author, and have an open passport to operate in 6 additional dimensions as:
- Coach
- Trainer
- Speaker
- Consultant
- Seminal Leader
- Information Marketer
So, the strategy of using your a book as the nucleus of your IP or empire works.
It’s the same strategy that Brendon Burchard has used to build his empire.
Brendon has written 7 books, 4 of them NY Times best-sellers: including The Charge and High Performance Habits.
Oprah refers to Brendon as “One of the most successful online trainers in history”, and Brendon describes himself as “The world’s #1 high performance coach.”
Why?
Because he’s the author of High Performance Habits and the founder of High Performance Academy.
If you want to make any meaningful impact about your legacy, start with a book. 💯
I’m here to help you get started.
