Tell the world your story  – you may gain Immortality

Share:

Do you have a story in you? Then tell the world your story today. Don’t wait.

Hope the three stories I share here inspire you to share yours.

First, Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hanson had several stories to share with the world.

The stories inspired them so much so they called their story collection Chicken Soup for the Soul.

But no top publishing house would accept to publish their stories.

The big publishers said stories don’t sell.

They rejected the first Chicken Soup for the Soul a whopping 400 times.

And guess what? Today the Chicken Soup for the Soul franchise is the biggest selling series of all time, with over 1 billion copies sold.

Second, in 1984, the late Jay Conrad Levinson had an idea.

He called his idea Guerilla Marketing.

But no publisher would listen to him.

So, he typed his ideas, stapled the papers together and self-published his “book” – and started showing up at book fairs.

Today the Guerilla Marketing brand is the best known marketing brand in history.

Time named the original Guerilla Marketing book as one of the top 25 best business books, with over 21 million copies sold.

The guerilla concepts have influenced marketing so much that the books have been translated into 62 languages and are required reading in MBA programs in most IVY League Schools around the world.

Finally, no publisher would touch J. K. Rowling’s first Harry Porter fantasy novel.

A single mother, they told her the book didn’t have market value.

But J. K. Rowling believed in the value of her work and persisted.

Today, her Harry Porter series is the best-selling fantasy book series of all time.

The Harry Porter series have been turned into movies propelling J K Rowling to the pinnacle of success.

She’s now the richest author in the UK, and indeed, the world, with her networth around $1billion.

So, do you have a story or an idea buried in you?

Why don’t you share it with the world?

Someone somewhere may tell you your idea or story has no market value – don’t believe such a person.

Ryan Holiday, the author of several iconic books, including The Obstacle Is the Way, advises authors that want to go far to write “timeless work.”

By that he means going deep, like he did with his book, The Perennial Seller.

If you want to be like one of the icons mentioned here, start writing – you never can tell where your effort will land you.

Forget accolades, when you do it well, the accolades will come.

You never can tell, your book may even make you immortal.
